Intimus Hybrid NSA Listed Hard Drive Crusher

The Intimus Hybrid is a hard drive crusher listed by the NSA for the physical destruction of hard drives. A hardened steel, V-shaped anvil presses down on the drive and folds it to roughly 90 degrees, cracking the platters and breaking the heads, motor, and circuit board.

The crusher runs two ways. With power, closing the door on a loaded chamber starts a cycle that finishes in 20 seconds or less. Without power, a hand crank on the side completes the same destruction in about 8 seconds, which keeps the unit usable during outages and at field sites. All 3.5-inch drives from 0.65 to 1.65 inches tall fit the chamber, and the included laptop carrier holds up to 4 laptop drives per cycle.

For classified hard drives, the NSA requires degaussing first and physical destruction second. The Hybrid handles the second step and pairs with the Intimus 20000G degausser. An optional SSD Module adds spiked teeth that pierce the memory chips on solid state drives, which degaussing cannot erase. Available add-ons are a Field Deployment Case, Remote Control, Screw Mounting Kit, Auto Loader, and Rear Output Slide. Built in the USA, the Hybrid weighs 63 lb and runs on 120 to 250 VAC.
