Product Description:

The Intimus 20000G degausser produces a 20,000 gauss (2 Tesla) field and appears on the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List for sanitizing classified and top secret magnetic media. Government offices, military units, defense contractors, and other organizations bound by NSA media destruction rules use EPL listed equipment like this to process drives in-house.

Each cycle applies two pulses through the Reverse Polarity process (field direction flipped between pulses): a 20,000 gauss positive field, then a 20,000 gauss negative field. Drives go into a slot on top of the unit, the operator presses start, and the erased drive drops out through a chute at the bottom. Cycle time is 45 to 60 seconds, giving 60 to 80 drives per hour under continuous duty.

The 20000G meets DIN 66399 security level H-7 and accepts LMR and PMR hard drives and computer tape media measuring up to 1 x 4.3 x 6 inches. Each cycle is shown on the LCD field strength display and logged by the digital cycle count. NSA rules call for classified drives to be degaussed and then physically destroyed, so the unit is often purchased with the Intimus Hybrid hard drive crusher. Built in the USA, it weighs 128 lb and runs on auto-sensing 90 to 240 VAC.
