The Intimus 15000G is a hard drive degausser built around a 3-second cycle, for sites that erase drives in large batches. A 15,000 gauss (1.5 Tesla) minimum field, peaking at 17,000 gauss, wipes the data from hard drives and magnetic tape placed in the drawer.
Running at continuous duty, the 15000G processes up to 1,200 desktop drives or 4,800 laptop drives an hour. That rate suits data centers, ITAD (IT asset disposition) companies, recyclers, and enterprise IT teams clearing drives during equipment refreshes before the hardware leaves the building.
The higher field gives extra margin over the coercivity (resistance to being erased) of high-density drives. The unit handles LMR and PMR desktop, laptop, and server drives plus computer tapes up to 1 x 4.3 x 6 inches. It meets DoD and DSS requirements for unclassified data, is NATO listed, and supports compliance with HIPAA, GLBA, PCI DSS, FACTA, GDPR, PIPEDA, and NIST. Built in the USA, the 15000G weighs 48 lb and runs on 90 to 240 VAC.
